Moving To Facebook

Moving my updates and announcements to Facebook now.  I'll still post here on major updates, but for the most up to date information, Facebook will be the best way to follow.  Plus Like or Friend the page to help share and promote the app! The page will be https://www.facebook.com/pages/TJs-Budget-Wallet/170078233166499.  Thanks for your support!

Version 21

-- Bug Fix
A bug was reported about the app crashing when looking at the page description of the first page.  I was able to figure out what was wrong (thanks mostly to the helpful comments from the person that posted it) and I've uploaded the new app.

Version 20

-- Default Preferences:
More work on default preferences.  Not much should be noticeable on your end, aside from hide help boxes being moved to app wide preferences instead of having to turn them on off on each page.  The Help buttons on the preference pages can't be turned off, I think they're useful enough and since they aren't seen often aren't to unappealing.

-- Stability Issues:
I took the app down for a few days to get the app more stable.  I kept finding problems that would cause the app to crash, and have to rush out a quick fix.  Then I would find a problem with the quick fix, or somewhere else and have to rush another fix.  So I took the app down and did a lot of testing.  I'm not going to be adding anything else for a bit, until I'm sure everything is working the way it should.  Stability needs to be key.

Version 19

Another quick little update.

-- Default Preferences:
Some of the default preferences weren't ideal.  A black edit box background with black edit text makes it hard to read what you're doing.  I'm going to need to go through the rest of the preferences soon, but this seemed like it needed to be done quickly.

Version 18

Just one update this time.

-- Crashing upon downloading:
Obviously this is a horrible one.  The old start up plan misreading some info I had added on update 15 or 16, causing the app to crash as soon as it was downloaded.  Anyone who had already downloaded the app wouldn't have noticed it, as  I didn't.  This is a quick fix, I noticed a few more little problems as I was fixing this, but I had to update this first since it was such a problem.

Version 17

Lots of little updates this time.  I've been testing them lately, and so far nothing seems broken, but we'll see.

-- Paying Common Transactions from home screen widget:
I use common transactions more than any other type of transaction, so I've tried to make them as quick and easy to pay as possible.  When using the home screen widget to pay a common transaction, a new window will open up.  All you need to enter is an amount, (if you don't enter anything, the amount already entered will be used) and information if you'd like.  The transaction is then recorded with all categories subcategories, account info, and transfer info etc. included.  It's much quicker this way

-- Info box on transaction paid:
After you pay a transaction, you now have an option to have a message box appear (settable by using Main Page ==> Menu ==> Preferences ==> App Widget Preferences ==> Message after transaction).  The message box shows the new account and transfer account totals after the transaction is paid.  Also, if the transaction's category or subcategory has a budget, the new budget totals will be shown.

-- Overall Transaction List:
This was always setup, just got left out of previous updates.  Simply shows a list of transactions from all accounts.  Can be sorted like all other transaction lists.

-- Notifications updated:
If you use notifications for repeat transactions, I've added a new feature that turns the notification's background to red if it's due soon.  Soon is determined by cutting the date preference in half.  To adjust the date preference: Main Page ==> Menu ==> Widget Preferences ==> "Notify when bill is coming how many days in advance".  If you set that to 10, notifications due within 5 days will have a red background.

-- Minor background updates and corrections:
On the show info widget, if you wanted to see "Transaction's Today" it was ignoring the hour adjustment preference.
All pages now have a correct page description.
    Some trimming and condensing

Version 16

-- Automatic Payment Option For Repeat Transactions:
There is now an option when creating/editing a repeat transaction to have it be automatically paid on it's due date.  This happens when you turn your phone on, if it's the correct date of a bill, the bill will be paid and a message will be shown.  If a bill is paid, but the amount should be different, you'll just need to edit the transaction from the accounts transactions list.

-- Preference Help Buttons:
Added some help buttons to all the preference pages.  Most preferences are pretty obvious, but some (like adjust time by hour) needed a bit of clarification.  If any of the help info isn't helpful enough, or worded poorly, please post here or email me.

-- Custom Dates For Transaction Lists:
Pretty straight forward, while on a transaction list page (either account, budget, category, or special transaction) select sort by to be date, and sort limit to be custom.  Two buttons will then appear and use each of them to set the begin and end date ranges.

Version 15

-- Fixed Budget Tabs:
The last update had the wrong tabs for budget overviews showing, which would cause crashes.  I got rid of the bad ones, and added a transactions list.

-- Removed Account Balance Checks:
I'll be adding these back soon, but currently I had to remove them.  These were the notifications if you were spending all the money in a particular account.  They were removed because I plan to condense them and budget balances soon.

-- Adjusted Editing Transactions:
Previously, if you were editing a transaction, you could only adjust certain things and not others.  You can now change everything about the previous transaction, except the transaction name.  Also, when paying a repeating or common transaction, you can adjust which account it uses too.

-- Added Loan Payment Page:
This is a tab under account overview for loan / credit accounts.  Here you can see how long it will take to pay off debts.  You can adjust your monthly payments or expenses to see how much time that will remove or add until your debt is paid off.

-- Adjusted Categories:
If there is a pause after you updated your app, I adjusted all Categories to include "Uncategorized" as a sub category. Previously, It was just added in all places it was needed.  If all goes well, you won't notice a difference.
